Location
This relaxing hideaway is located in Chalong, Phuket. I would highly recommend that you have some sort of transport (moped/car) to get around as there isn’t much to do around the area. But no worries if you don’t, the resort offers a free shuttle that goes to Nai Harn Beach and Central Festival Phuket Department Store. Phuket international airport is a 40 minute drive away. If you have transport around Phuket all the main attraction are no more than a 30 minute drive and if you are looking for something close by to do, Chalong Bay Rum Distillery is about a 10 minute drive away.
Villa – 405 Waterfall Duplex Pool
Let me just start by saying how amazing this villa was, there was not only 1 floor but 2 floors. The upstairs had a separate shower and toilet and to top it off there was a bath in the middle of the room. The bed was one of the best features of this villa as it was super huge and comfortable, we slept like babies! The rooms are fitted with big long windows that opened up to allow the room to feel airy, but unfortunately there was a tree blocking our view that overlooks Chalong Beach.
Downstairs, was a lounge room to relax and watch movies, with an outdoor toilet and shower. Also offering a private infinity pool with a waterfall. Each villa comes with its own amenities, a selection of creams, a rang of mosquito repellent, sun hats, beach bags, bath robs, slippers and the list goes on. Not what you get from your average hotel right? They do offer a snack bar and alcohol to mix up your own cocktails in your room but that comes at a cost. Our villa package included free afternoon tea which was some sweets socked in syrup and they were not very nice, tasted like perfume.
Facilities
Apart from a private pool with a spacious sun deck in each villa and a free shuttle to the beach. The Resort offers door to door service, a shuttle will pick you up from your private villa and take you anywhere you want to go around the hotel. There is a public infinity pool with a spectacular view and the restaurant is right next door if your feeling peckish. The resort also offers room service where you can dine in your private villa pool. It also offers Thai cooking classes, Zans Spa, a library and a gym. The reception has a selection of movies that you can rent out for free and take back to your villa for a cosy movie night.
Restaurant – Bambu
We dinned at there restaurant for breakfast, which was included in our package. They provided absolutely anything and everything you could think of eating for breakfast, they had it. From hot porridge, eggs freshly cooked to cold fruit salad and deserts. I must say they cater for everyone, English breakfast to traditional Thai breakfast. There was a wide rang of tea and coffee to pick from. the service from the staff was excellent, they were well spoken and very helpful.
Summary
Overall this resort offers a luxurious experience and we would stay here again, but not for the price we paid. If we found a better deal we would certainly come back. Its just the little things that we thought would off been included like the snacks in the room and the afternoon tea could of been a lot better. We also expected to have a decent view as we stayed in one off the highest villas they had to offer. But all in all this is a very nice romantic couples retreat. Hotel 7/8 Thailand!
