The Quiet Site – Lake District

The Quiet Site

This is our first time glamping and I must say it was a very unique experience. The Quiet Site offers many different options of glamping styles and we hope to try more on our next visit.

The Quiet Site

Location

The Quiet Site is located right next to Ullswater Lake and the beautiful Aira Force Waterfalls. We had the perfect view from our pod. There is no public transport near this campsite so you will need to drive. This place is the perfect getaway if you want some peace and quiet hence the name THE QUIET SITE. Its also perfect for long walks and hiking if that’s what your into.

Room – Camping Pod 5

So there isn’t much to the camping pods, Just like camping you have to bring your own sleeping bags and cooking equipment. This pod is made to fit 4 people. so was very spacious for the 3 of us. The pods are equipped with an electric heater, a lamp and some plug sockets which came in handy as we were camping the night before and our batteries were almost dead. Once inside the pod it is completely private and has a cosy feely to it.

Facilities

There are many toilets with baths and a few shower rooms located next to the reception area. My opinion on shared bathrooms and showers was all wrong, I thought they were going to be grimy but this was not the case. It was very clean and well maintained. There is a laundry located in this area. Right next to the reception is also the local shop that sells freshly picked vegetables, fresh orange juice and milk. If your looking for an adventure, at the reception they offer tones of information on days out from the site.

The Quiet Bar

The atmosphere in this building is without doubt, unique! It has a lot of history and the original building was erected in 1648 as an agricultural barn. It is attached to the farmhouse in the traditional Cumbrian Long barn style. The Barn was converted into a bar in 1963. Little has been changed to the main structure since the original conversion.

Summary

Will we return? Of course we will. We want to stay in a proper glamp cabin the next time we return. It will be nice to have a bed, on suit shower, toilet and if we’re lucky some have private hot tubes. All in all it was a lovely experience! Check out our vlog on this campsite.
