The Perfect North Wales Itinerary

First of all, get yourself a cozy Airbnb to stay in, somewhere that is going to be easily accessible for all the things you want to do, and trust me when I say there are so many places to visit. Bangor is a great area to stay in. Here is our North Wales Itinerary

Day 1 En-Route Bangor / Penmon Light House

We hit the roads at 5am so we could get there early and have the rest of the day to chill. 251 miles later and we arrived at the first beach of the trip as we were too early to check into our Airbnb. Penmon Beach is a pebble beach, perfect for relaxing, going fishing, or sitting at the little Pilot House Cafe listening to live music. To top it off the weather was perfect, 30 degrees had us smiling the entire holiday. We finished the day back at the Airbnb with a bbq.

Day 2 Porth Lago

Porth Lago Beach was around a 1-hour drive away from where we stayed but the drive was worth it. This has to be the prettiest little cove I’ve ever seen. The water was clear blue, perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, and other water sports. We spent the whole day there as this was our main beach day. We even took our bbq gear and got cooking on the beach. Funny story, we forgot most of our food at home and only bought sausages. Warning in advance, it is a very steep hill to walk down to get to the cove so be careful. The cove is on private land and you will have to pay around £5 for parking, there is also an option to car camp or even set up your tent for £15 per night.

Day 3 Zip World Penrhyn Quarry / Llandudno

Book yourself and friends in for a day full of fun and challenges. Zip World was only a 20-minute drive from our Airbnb. We booked the Quarry Karts for the first activity and boy oh boy was that fun. There is no engine, just gravity pulling you down this crazy winding track. The next one up was Velocity 2 this was the most fun of all, being the world’s fastest zipline reaching up to 100 mph. This was the best feeling ever, we felt like we were was flying. The Quarry Karts were £40 per person and you get to go around the track twice. Velocity 2 was £98 per person, yes it is pricey but it is the faster zipline in the world after all, you can get this at a cheaper price off-peak. Each activity took around 2 hours. After Zip World Penrhyn Quarry we headed to Llandudno Pier to finish the day in the arcades with hot doughnuts and a Tango Ice Blast. (Note we did pack lunch as it can be price buying food and drinks at these places, up to £15 just for burgers and chips.)

Day 4 Zip FForest / Betws-y-Coed

Another fun day of activities. We booked the ziplining course, this took around 2-3 hours and if you are scared of heights then this is the perfect way to face your fear. This activity costs £40 per person. The Forest Coaster is also a must, no doubt you are going to have fun on this one. You can couple up or go on it on your own for £25 per person. After Zip Fforest we headed to a small town called Betws-y-Coed. This place is a must if you want good grub, the queue for Hanging Pizzeria was so long so we ended up going to Y Stablau – Stables Bar and even the wait to get into here was 30 minutes to an hour. However, the food was delicious and worth the wait. We ended the day here.

Day 5 Snowdon / Watkins Path Waterfall

So we did not hike Snowdon this time round but it’s one of the beauties of North Wales, so don’t miss out on an opportunity. (Check out our blog on Snowdon Summit) To kill 2 birds with one stone after hiking Snowdon head back down the Watkin Path to enjoy the clearest water you will ever come across. There are waterfalls and deep pools you can jump into to cool down. You can even spend the whole day here at the pools and of course, we were once again blessed with beautiful weather.

Day 6 West Shore Beach / Home Time

If you have some time to spear before heading home, you can walk along West Shore beach in Llandudno and grab some fish and chips from the local shops nearby. This time around we didn’t have enough time as we needed to get back to London, but we did visit Llandudno Ski and Snowboard Centre last time we were here. There is also the Great Orme Tramway, Llandudno Cable Cars, and tons of waterfalls to visit. This is just a fraction of North Wales. We will be back to explore South Wales soon.

If you guys manage to free up some time or have an extra day in wales go check out this cool instagramable spot, the Secret Infinity Pool. We have a whole Youtube video on this.
