This standalone cottage blends in well with the jungle atmosphere. Palmview Resort is rated as 2 star and we think it was was more of a 3 star, you are welcomed by the lovely owner with a cold bottle of water at the check-in desk and shown around the property.
Location
Palmview Resort is located at the end of a long bendy road in the middle of the jungle passing other resorts and bars on the way. If your are looking for jungle trek tours and the famous Khao Sok National Park tours, you are staying in the right place. The owner is happy to help with information about transport around Khoa Sok and offers a shuttle bus to the main strip with bars and restaurant at a low cost of 50TBH per person.
Room – Cottage 2
The cottage is wooden and has a tiled shower room, it has a porch with a small wooden table and chairs so you can have your morning coffee and take in the scenery. When your in the middle of the jungle you don’t expect to have hot water but we did, which we was grateful for! The bed was comfortable and netted to keep all the mosquito’s out and a fan to keep you cool. This cottage did not come with any amenities. You are woken up by the sound of the rooters bright and early in the morning. I’m talking about 6am when sunrises!
Bar & Restaurant
The check-in desk is located at the restaurant along with their friendly family dog and cats, which is situated right at the front of the resort. The restaurant serves freshly cooked local meals such as Pad Thai. They also serve a variety of drinks such as cocktails and local beers.
Summary
Will we stay here again? I think we will because we had a good experience but I know its something Antonio will have to think hard about as he thinks we got lucky and did not see any insects there. But when your staying in the jungle full stop you are bound to see some creepy insects. This was defiantly good value for money as we only paid £9 a night on Booking.com. Can you go wrong? Hotel 3/8 on our trip to Thailand!
