Qatar Airways Review – 4 international flights
Qatar Airways economy flights are above the average economy flights you will catch with British airways etc. They aren’t the cheapest flights but you can get a good deal through 3rd party websites or through our affiliate link. We payed £395 per person for a return flight to Thailand via Doha. The stop over was a smooth transition.
Quality and features
Each flight was different to the other, some were more modern than others, but the quality of the service remained at the same high standard which is a plus when your on a long haul flight. The lighting sets a calm relaxing mood on the plane. Some of the planes had this amazing feature on the window, you can turn your window into night mode when its bright and sunny outside. The TV was a decent size and had some cool games, programs and movies to keep you entertained. Unfortunately for Antonio his tv was not working properly on one of our flights. Only on one of the flights we got amenities, the other 3 flights didn’t have any. I would think we would get them on all our flights. Is this odd?
Food service
Qatar had a variety of different food to chose from. The food had lots of flavour and did not taste like a ready meal. We were served 1 main meal an hour into the flight and a sandwich or pastry later on. Each of these meals came with a desert and the main meal came with bread and butter. The drinks throughout the flight were unlimited. We had a choice of beers, wine, spirits and hot/cold beverages, which all came with a packet of pretzels. The main meal never failed to impress but the pastries were not the best we’ve tasted.
Staff service
The staff were well dressed and presented. They greeted us on arrival and departure and made us feel welcomed. They were very attentive.
Issues – BIG INSECT
23rd November 2019 we bored the 09:05 QR330 departing from LGW – DOH. We were seated in 27A and 27B. The plane was getting ready to take off and whilst listening to the airline announcements, I spotted this massive beetle or cockroach crawling on the seat Antonio was sitting on (27B). It crawled onto the pillow I was leaning on & so I grabbed the pillow and threw it onto the floor. The air hostess put it in a bag and disposed off it . The manager came to check if we were okay and said they took pictures and will deal with it later. I expressed to them that Antonio is extremely uncomfortable as he has an extreme phobia of insects. He just apologised and offered us a drink which we were entitled to anyways. Whilst exiting the plane we were approached by a member of the cabin crew asking us to not post the video of vlog and not to mention the insect found on the aircraft as they will get in trouble. As a highly established airline we expected more to be done. We we’re not offered a seat change and were made to feel like all they cared about was their social image.
Summary
Overall despite the BIG ASS INSECT on our seat, we would fly with Qatar Airways again because their service is fantastic and the planes are more comfortable than any plane we’ve been on before.
