4 International flights, 4 Domestic flights, 5 Different location, 7 Hour drive from one island to another, 8 Accommodations, All in 16 days, Here is our Thailand Itinerary!!
Day 1 – En-route Bangkok
We set off on a 15 hour overnight connect flight from London to Doha – Doha to Bangkok with Qatar Airways.
Day 2 – Bangkok
We arrived at the President Park Hotel in Bangkok with little to no sleep but that didn’t stop us from exploring this busy city. We headed to Maeklong Railway Market and Talad Rod Fai Market. Ending our night at 1am.
Day 3 – Bangkok
A very early start to the day with only 5 hours sleep, we headed out to see the famous temples of Bangkok. The Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and The Reclining Buddha. After that a quick freshen up back at The President Park Hotel and off we went to the highest building in Bangkok, King Power Mahanakhon. We ended our night with a Thai Massage at 2am.
Day 4 – Chiang Rai
After only 3 hours of sleep we were feeling sleep deprived but had our first domestic flight to catch with Nok Air, we headed North of Thailand to Chiang Rai. First thing we did was rent out a Mo-Ped and checked-in early to B2 hotel. Before we knew it, it had caught up with us, yes we fell asleep! But that didn’t stop us, after a short nap we hoped on our Mo-Ped to Wat Huay Pla Kung.
Day 5 – Chiang Rai
We were off to another early start, back on the Mo-Ped for a short drive to the famous white temple know as Wat Rong Khun. After a Mo-Ped change because we broke down we drove to Singha Park and last but not least we visited the beautiful blue temple Wat Rong Suea Ten.
Day 6 – Surat Thani
Travel day! Another early domestic flight with Nok Air, back to Bangkok Don Mueang Airport where we waited around 4 hours for our second domestic flight of the day with Air Asia to Surat Thani Airpot, where we picked up our rental car from Avis. Finally arriving at Khao Sok Palmview Resort after a 1 hour 30 minute drive.
Day 7 – Khao Sok National Park
We started off with breakfast at Smiley Bungalows then drove in a minivan to Cheow Lan Lake where we hopped on a long tail boat for a overnight stay at one of the most unique places in the world, Smiley Lake house. There is a whole itinerary for this overnight trip.
Day 8 – Khao Sok Nation Park / Ao Nang, Krabi
After a relaxing morning and afternoon exploring the lake on a kayak we headed back to mainland. We got in our rental car and drove to Ao Nang, Krabi with a lovely couple we met on our tour. A 2 hour 30 minute drive and we made it to Ao Nang Cliff View Resort.
Day 9 – Ao Nang, Krabi
Once again we were of to a early start after what felt like a never ending journey to the Hot Springs and Emerald Pool. Guys don’t drive a Mo-Ped, its way to far to for that and we had to learn it hard way! We jumped back onto the road to the Tiger Cave Temple. Ending our day haggling for the best island hopping prices.
Day 10 – Island Hopping, Krabi
We found the best price possible for a private long tail boat, setting out in the sunrise to Hong Island, Hong Island Lagoon, Lao Lading Island and Pakbia Island. We arrived back around 2pm, perfect timing for us to spend some time in our hotel, explore the busy strip and squeeze in a cheeky massage.
Day 11 – Phuket
A quick breakfast and we were on the roads to Phuket, 3 hours and some steep hills later and we made it to The Privilege Residences hotel. We dropped our bags of and headed out to the picture perfect Nui Beach for sunset. After the sunset we hit the nightlife at Bangla Road.
Day 12 – Phuket
An early pick up from our hotel, unaware we had booked a tour in Phang Nga which was 2 hours away from our hotel. This tour included Water Rafting, ATV, zip lining and a trip to the water falls. After an adventurous day we headed back to the party strip at Bangla Road. Ending our night with a blast and some new friends we met on our tour early that day.
Day 13 – Phuket
Checked out of our hotel and drove to Phuket’s Old Town to see the brightly painted, century-old Sino-Portuguese townhouses and a quick trip up Monkey Hill. We then checked into the breathtaking Villa Zolitude where we spent the rest of the night taking in every moment of our experience.
Day 14 – Bangkok
We took our final domestic flight with Nok Air back to Bangkok. On our way to Hotel Royal Bangkok Chinatown, unaware that most of the streets were going to be blocked off for the old king’s remembrance. After check-in we joined the locals to see the King and Queen of Thailand and enjoy some free street food cooked by the locals.
Day 15 – Bangkok
We waved down a Grab Taxi and headed to the famous Chutuchuk Weekend Market where we shopped till we dropped. Spending around 7 hours getting lost! We then stopped off at a Big C for some last minute goodies to take home and ended our trip with a nice foot massage.
Day 16 – Hometime En-route London
A super early and sad start at 4am off to Suvarnabhumi Airport for a 17 hour connect flight from Bangkok to Doha – Doha to London with Qatar Airways. We were truly sad to be leaving this beautiful country behind, having fallen in love with the culture, the people and the food. If you want to travel to Thailand, you can book your holiday here!
